Silencers. Used to dampen vibrations resulting from chimney operation.
Description of the use of silencers.
Along with the increase in the number of heat sources for which fume exhaustion is provided by external stainless steel chimneys in the MKD system, there is an increase in the incidence of problems of noise emitted into the environment. The noise generated by boiler rooms is usually an issue for people living in buildings in their vicinity. External chimneys are the main source of noise. The noise that comes from the boilers and burners is almost entirely suppressed by the boiler room walls. In order to block noise from the boiler room chimneys it is proposed to install special acoustic silencers on the chimney flue or a small distance from them. Their primary task is to reduce the acoustic wave energy that is transferred along the axis of flues where gas is flowing. Acoustic silencers should suppress noise without interfering with the movement of the working medium along the flues.
Types of acoustic silencers.
• Reflective – any parts of the chimney flue (tube) with changes in cross-section. They work on the basis of reflection, interference and compensation of acoustic waves.
• Absorption – they prevent the transmission of acoustic energy by absorbing a substantial part of it.
Silencers manufactured by MK Systemy Kominowe.
MK Systemy Kominowe offers absorption silencers. Mineral wool or steel wool are used as an insulation material. Silencers from MK Systemy Kominowe achieve maximum efficiency in the 500 Hz to 1000 Hz frequency range. The outer jacket of the silencer is equipped with two 1/2″ connectors that are used to drain condensate that may appear in the chimney system.
